with our NeuroRescue program patients can see significant improvement in just 5 days

Dr. Glen Zielinski & his Northwest Functional Neurology team have been helping
people recover from complicated neurological conditions, such as
Traumatic Brain Injuries and Concussions,  Dizziness and Vertigo,
and Movement Disorders through innovative diagnostics and customized brain-based solutions for over 14 years.

Conditions We Help

We treat all manner of neurological conditions. We use cutting edge examination procedures and neurodiagnostic technologies to evaluate every relevant aspect of your nervous system. This allows us to quickly get to the heart of your problem, determine how and why it happened, understand how it impacts you and your family, and see what we need to do to get you back to living a vibrant and fulfilling life.

Brain Injuries and Concussions

Traumatic Brain Injuries and concussions result from injuries that induce shearing forces to fragile brain tissue. They damage pathways that allow you to localize yourself in the world, manage sensory input, regulate your balance, modulate your emotions, and think clearly. TBI often creates vertigo and dizziness, which can involve injuries to the neck, the inner ear, or both.

We use advanced neurodiagnostic technology to quantify how every relevant system is working, then design a treatment plan to return all of those systems to once again saying the same thing, so you can get back to living a vibrant and fulfilling life.

Vertigo and Dizziness

Vertigo is a sensation of movement, either of you or the world around you, that results from a sensory mismatch between your eyes, you inner ear, and feedback from muscles and joints. When this occurs one or more of the systems your brain uses to make sense of where you are in space are saying different things. This can be the result of trauma, infection, neurodegeneration, and a host of other circumstances.

Vertigo can be extremely debilitating, and impact virtually all function in the world. At the most basic level, if you can’t localize yourself in the world, the world becomes a very scary place.

We use advanced neurodiagnostic technology to quantify how every relevant system is working, then design a treatment plan to return all of those systems to once again saying the same thing, so you can get back to living a vibrant and fulfilling life.

Movement Disorders

Movement disorders are be some of the most frustrating and debilitating problems anyone can confront. People can lose control of their bodies, lose the ability to generate proper motor responses, and lose the ability to interact with the world.

Most movement disorders involve impaired function in several parts of the brain, including the basal ganglia, the cerebellum, the frontal motor cortex, and the parietal sensory cortex. We use advanced examination procedures and neurodiagnostic technologies to see how these systems are functioning and how they are working together. This allows us to design your unique NeuroRescue program to help get them all working together again, so you can begin to regain control over your body and start living your best life.

In Dysautonomia the autonomic nervous system is not functioning properly. It can develop from traumatic brain injuries, but can also arise from viral infection, and other types of autoimmune conditions.

Sufferers struggle with dizziness and light-headedness, balance problems, cognitive challenges, and often chronic pain. People often feel like they are about to pass out, cannot regulate their heart rate, and can find even the most simple daily tasks exhausting and impossible.

Dysautonomia usually involves poor coordination between the vestibular system and the brainstem areas that regulate blood flow to the brain.

We examine and evaluate all of the relevant neurological systems creating your dysautonomia, and use this insight to design your unique NeuroRescue Program to restore normal autonomic function, so you can get back to living your best life.

Northwest Functional Neurology has been architecturally designed to maximize
the healing experience by minimizing neurologic triggers that impede recovery.

Every element of our facility, from our wall shapes and colors, to our lighting and sound absorbing wall surfaces was carefully selected to create the most therapeutic and safe space possible for people struggling with sensory overload.

Designing your unique NeuroRescue Program begins with your Discovery Day. We gather insight into what are your challenges, how they came about, how they are affecting you, and what we need to do to start you on the path back to your best life.

The History

We take a thorough history of not only your condition, but also of your entire life on a timeline. This allows us to determine all the factors that lead to your problem, what has and has not helped so far, and what other potential genetic, metabolic, immune, and psychological factors may be impeding your recovery.

Our detailed history gives us insight into what we need to do to start making you better, so you can return to a vibrant and fulfilling life.

The Examination

Our patients usually tell us that we gave them the most through and detailed examination they have ever received.

Our examination procedures allow us to dig deep into your nervous system to determine what is wrong, how it happened, how it is affecting you, and what we need to do to help start your journey back to health.

Neurodiagnostic Testing

We use cutting edge, gold standard neurodiagnostic technologies to gain hard data on the function of your critical neurological systems. This shows us the parts of your system are working and the parts that are not. More importantly, our diagnostics show us how well your systems work together, and when they fatigue. They provide key insights that allows us to design a NeuroRescue program that is uniquely tailored to you, and you alone, in order to accelerate your recovery as efficiently and comfortably as possible.

With your Discovery Day complete, we will have all the
pieces necessary to design your personal NeuroRescue Program.
From here we move on to your treatment program.

At Northwest Functional Neurology, we treat people two ways, with NeuroRescue Intensive or Outpatient programs. Both are designed to address you unique circumstances and functional challenges, to get you back to living your best life as fast as possible.

In your NeuroRescue Intensive Program,  we take two months of outpatient care and compress it into a week. This is a boot camp for your brain, and allows us to achieve rapid improvement and better results.

We see you five times a day for five consecutive days. We run a full set off diagnostics several times during the week, and adjust our protocols as you progress. We address every aspect of your system that may be impairing your ability to return to neurological health and give you exercises, therapies, and other interventions to move you forward. We generally see most people get around 70% better in a week, and while your results may vary, some of our patients see their symptoms resolve entirely.

In our Outpatient NeuroRescue program we book out a month of care, see you three times a week for that month, modify our protocols along the way based on how you respond, then repeat our diagnostics. We see what’s changed, see what’s better, and see what we need to work on, and adjust your protocol from there. Our patients generally experience significant improvement by their first reevaluation.

With outpatient care, you still need the same frequency of stimulus to get better, so we design a unique and specific program of home exercises to stimulate your system, to help you restore your own functionality and get back to living the life you desire.

What Makes Us Different:

Our NeuroRescue and NeuroActive Therapy Programs are

designed to heal through a comprehensive multimodal approach.

NeuroRescue helps people with complex neurologic conditions identify the cause of the

dysfunction and apply multimodal healing therapies to optimize their brain function.

NeuroActive is designed to optimize brain function and elevate the performance of

professional and collegiate athletes, executives,

and anyone seeking help with:

  • Improving Memory
  • Improving Focus
  • Clearer Thinking
  • Quick decision making
  • Heightened energy
  • Becoming Faster
  • Improving Balance
  • Improving Coordination
  • Improving Reactions
  • Improving Accuracy
  • Improving Strength
  • Improving Effectiveness

After years of addressing complex neurological cases, Dr. Glen Zielinski

developed these programs that meld brain-based therapy, physical therapy,

vision therapy, and vestibular therapy to create a comprehensive healing protocol.
